Frequently asked questions.
What is counseling?
Counseling helps individuals, couples, or families navigate challenges, improve communication, and heal from past trauma. It can focus on issues like anxiety, stress, relationships, and personal growth.
How long will counseling take?
The number of sessions varies. Some people see improvement in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy depending on the issues and goals.
What happens in the first session?
In the first session, we’ll discuss your challenges, goals, and begin building trust. It’s an opportunity to share your concerns and set a foundation for therapy.
Will we have joint or separate sessions?
In couples and family counseling, joint sessions are typically used. However, individual sessions may be scheduled if needed to address personal issues.
How is trauma treated in therapy?
Trauma is treated with specialized techniques like EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These approaches help process past trauma and heal emotional wounds.
Is counseling confidential?
Yes, counseling is confidential, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. This ensures a safe space to work through sensitive issues.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or facing personal or relationship struggles, therapy can provide guidance and support to help you make positive changes.
How much do sessions cost?
$90 per individual session and $120 per couples/family session.
